Affect the Physics of Disease

*improve your health
*eliminate phobias
*erase limitations of all kinds
*heal relationships
*live pain free

I am excited to let you all know about my dear friend John Newton, who is returning again
to the East Coast for a week of deep, life shifting work. One group session (Saturday March 24th, 7-9pm, $25) and private sessions will be held both at Woodstock Wellness (woodstockwellness.com), and at Nectar (www.nectarimports.com) in a quiet, private space in our Annex. I have known John for more than twenty years, have had extraordinary insights and emotional and spiritual healing in my  own life with and because of John, as well as witnessed profound positive reactions to the (completely booked!) sessions held at my home and Woodstock wellness during his last visit a few months ago.  I'm excited to share the opportunity with you all, trust me, pretty powerful stuff, hence the reason I feel so compelled to help promote this... Keep in mind what he does and how he works defies category and comparison, but he helps to clear emotional and spiritual blocks, and alleviate physical pain. Please excuse the late notice. If interested, book asap as his sessions are filling up! Call John to book your session: 310-663-9966

Since 1987, John has studied healing all over the world: Shamanism in South America, Maori techniques in New Zealand, ancient Kahuna knowledge in Hawaii, meditation from India, Faith Healing in the Philippines, Medical Remote Viewing, Emotional Alchemy, Reiki (Egyptian & Usui), EFT and more.

The mainstay of his practice however, is based on Howard Wills' silent work which can provide results most times in a matter of minutes. John has helped thousands of people with a variety of issues.

The yummy little man is now... 1 and 1/2! Though he's still a lad of few words, he kicks a soccer ball like a pro, is a jumping fiend, loves to "run! run! run!" has been to Costa Rica, ("PLANE!!") where he explored the beach and was getting very early kissing lessons from his favorite three year old named Violet... Liam can often be spotted at Nectar pointing and squealing at passing trucks or kicking his ball. He is indeed a lover of adventure and life!

Hi (Contact First Name)!

We are proud to finally announce the relaunch of ...

our NEW WEBSITE!

Please enjoy a voyage into

www.nectarimports.com

bounty

And after you've visited our site, be sure to contact us with as much feedback as possible to make it as wonderful as it can be!  For now it is a plunge into everything that is Nectar, without the smells (a virtual scratch and sniff may be forthcoming, who knows! :)) and the music that helps to make this place so alive... Still, it is a visceral experience nonetheless, layers of texture, and some personal Nectar stories thrown in for good measure. Next step, a SHOPPING CART on the site!  Whoo hoo! Please do pass this email on to anyone who might be interested in finding out about all the good things we have going on! Many thanks!

                   GRATITUDE

Actualizing our new site has been an exciting co-creation between Rebecca Cobb, our wonderful Graphic Designer, the web programmers over atwww.bistrostudios.com

Nectar's Victoria Walsh Harrison who organized and uploaded images, my dear friend Amy Finkle who tediously, generously re-sized the photos and helped with overall tweaking of the site, and Roy Gumpel and Donna Bunte, who did much of the photography, as well as myself.  I did the great majority of the writing, with some much appreciated relief from Nectar's Cecily Sachi and Garland Middleton.  This site was long overdue. And a final thanks to Nectar's Lindsey Buckley for her contribution to the Blog as well as her exquisite forest photo in the Why Reclaimed? section; just what my eyes were searching for. And finally, thanks to the Green Cottage crew in High Falls for the flowers in my photo above!

Our friends in the Nectar community have been more than patient awaiting our web site's re-birth... Thanks for the tiny pom poms waving around everyone!

"The Flats" by Jenny Wonderling

Neighbors Helping Neighbors...

This image was taken that surreal day just after the hurricane 0n Rte. 299 in New Paltz. Previously a field lush with sunflowers, pumpkins, corn, and more, only weeks away from harvest... Fields of brown and murky water now replace the vivid color.  And the lovely family at Wallkill View Farm (not to mention their wonderful employees) are by far not the only farm hit by the hurricane without the protection of flood insurance.  Less than two weeks later, we were collectively affected by widespread flooding once again. Blessings to all those who have lost... Road blocks and the inconveniences of driving are nothing compared the devastation that so many have endured.  For those of you residing beyond (and within!) Ulster County's borders (and other flood and wind devastated areas), there are some great local organizations involved in the effort of rebuilding for you to get involved. Individuals interested in volunteering or contributing can do so with theAmerican Red Cross or Governor Cuomo's excellent newly launched hands-on initiativeLabor For Your Neighbor

There's also the wonderful Family of Woodstock with its far reaching programswww.familyofwoodstockinc.org

Starting with our kick-off Two Week sale Saturday, September 24th, we will be giving 10% of furniture sales to Labor for Your Neighbor!! So come to Nectar, and feel even better about your purchase! Namaste!

At Nectar we pride ourselves on sourcing inventory that is Green as well as Fairtrade, so that each purchase has as little environmental impact as possible and/or supports wonderful community projects and cooperatives around the world.   (Not to mention offers our clients items that are full of character and unique!)  Though our furniture items are "Green", they are not Fairtrade, but many (not all) of our gifts and jewelry are.  India has strict deforestation laws and they recycle everything possible.  The main company we buy from has warehouses and yards full of old materials from buildings as well as old furniture that they transform and revive into things unique and beautiful... Nectar likes to keep our two stores fresh and lush with interesting new things.

Liam Skye Update!

And almost last but not least... Hard to believe but Liam will be a year at the end of this month!!! Here he is pictured with a dust pan. Maybe this time one of my sons will actually like to clean! I've decided to start him early. Hah, keep dreaming, Mama, this one likes to make a mess too!  It's a good thing he's sweet as sweet can be. Liam is... taking three steps at a time, cruising holding onto surfaces and hands, loves to dance, to get the mail "MAIL BOX!!", playing in the sandbox at the park, pretend driving in a real car or truck, his BIG brothers and FOOD, yes, he's finally eating real food, PHEW! He says "Aidan, truck, ball, mailbox (with what sounds like a mouth full of marbles), Emmanuel (also open to interpretation),  Mama, Dada, YaYa (one of his best friends) Emma, (another one of his best friends.  Like his father, he likes older women)... Liam's a blessing, and leaves a trail of love and joy... YUM!

 HAPPY SUMMER ADVENTURES!

Dear Jenny,

Did you know that Nectar has more than fifty different styles of journals in stock for adults and even children?  Give your ramblings a beautiful place to live; choose from lined or unlined, spiral bound or wrapped in leather or whimsy, find the perfect journal to record the unfolding summer days ahead.

...It all started with the first sightings of tender green leaves on the trees and the crocus and daffodils
timidly rising from their slumber in the earth. And then it happened-- nature exploding all around us with shameless color and the raucous of birdsong! Aaaah, I sigh, and just in time, for though the winter in the Hudson Valley can be peaceful, it is also long, slushy and gray after a while.  And spring is so quintessentially beautiful here-- something to behold AND TO RECORD!

Those close to me are aware how journaling has long been one of my closest allies.  I once heard the following wise words, "Use everything in your life to create your art."  But whether or not you consider your private musings art or mere catharsis, come to Nectar to find endless slates for inspiration.  Like the journal below, just arrived and entitled FEARLESS...

Blessings for an adventure filled, inspired, and peaceful summer ahead, friends... And happy wedding Nesli and Guthrie!!

For all of you who have come to love our dear friend Neslihan, (affectionately known as "Nesli" to many who knew her at Nectar) my family is so excited to join her and her fiance for their wedding in Turkey! I will come back after two weeks with news from that ancient, extraordinary place, let you know if my teenage boys and baby boy alike found it fun, and do expect some new treasures and mementos from the market to brighten the store! And if you have been to Turkey yourself, please let me know if you have any suggestions for places to stay and enjoy.   We leave June 14th, so email or call me soon! Many thanks!

Liam Skye Update!

And almost last but not least... Hard to believe but he's just about eight months! Here he is pictured with one of his favorite people, Emma, so of course he's so happy his second chin gets really excited. Liam is now crawling in earnest, none of that belly dragging Spiderman wanna-be stuff anymore.  Yes he's a big boy , pulling himself up on everything because he wants to walk too! His two top teeth have cut through, and he's trying to birth the bottom ones, all while warding off the evils of his first cold.  Well, that's because he had his first make-out session with his older girlfriend Pim (a month his elder, and so extraordinary he forgets he needs to take it slow, even though we've had "the talk" with him already), and his best friend (four hours younger) who was trying to move in on his girl. But that's a long complicated, seemingly inappropriate, and yet entirely innocent story of a day in the life of one small boy filled with wonder...

Goodbye Ganesha! One last word: "Goodbye" to our dear old jolly, enormous mascot who adorned the front of our store so beautifully.  You have gone to a wonderful, loving home, where your gifts of abundance will continue to flow and be appreciated.   Thanks for the reminder of impermanence.   And just wait, Nectar friends, for the new surprise Welcoming Committee! See you soon!

Thanks for supporting Nectar this past holiday season, as well as Family of Woodstock

Through your purchases between December 6th and 19th, though we haven't quite got the final tally on what the exact number is, it will make a much needed dent in various support services Family offers. That number soon to come!  (Apologies, friends, my three month old baby adds a new dimension to my previous concept of "overload"!)  Nectar understands you have a choice in where you shop, especially now when most have little to spend frivolously.  We try our hardest to make your shopping experience an inspired one. Please share any ideas or feedback with us about how to make Nectar even better... And don't forget to check out: www.familyofwoodstockinc.org and give when you can to their much needed local programs to neighbors in need...

In Kerela, India

Trips to source new inventory should never be "all work and no play!" This photo was taken moments after a super fun game of Duck Duck Goose in Allepey, Kerela! Who knows, those kids might still be playing it, along with Red Light Green Light, two small offerings from Nectar's Jenny and Karsten. (She says,"Nothing compared to the gift of spending the afternoon with these children.  India's kids, though living in a kind of squalor few Americans know, have an extraordinary joy.  My husband's and my experience there was that Indians are an incredibly generous people, no matter how little they have...)
